Meet our Pastor

Rev. James Bradford Humphrey, III, “Brad,” son of the late Reverend Dr. J.B. Humphrey, Jr. and Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Pridgeon Humphrey, is a native of Charlotte, North Carolina. A third generation minister, Rev. Brad Humphrey accepted the call to preach the gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in 1996.

Rev. Humphrey received his early education from the Charlotte Mecklenburg School System and is a graduate of North Mecklenburg High School. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from North Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro, North Carolina and a Masters of Divinity Degree from Shaw University in Raleigh, North Carolina. He is also a graduate of Gupton Jones College of Mortuary Science in Atlanta, GA.

Rev. Humphrey served as Pastor of First Fellowship Ministries of Charlotte for 10 years. He also served the Mecklenburg General Baptist Association Congress of Christian Education as a Teacher, Assistant Dean, Dean, and President of the Sunday School and BTU Congress.

Rev. Humphrey is a North Carolina Funeral Service Licensee and currently is President and Chief Executive Officer of Grier Funeral Service, Inc. of Charlotte. He has served as President of the Western District Funeral Directors and Morticians Association and serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Funeral Directors and Morticians Association of North Carolina; he currently serves as Chaplain of the FDMANC.

Prior to Grier Funeral Service, he was a sales representative with Dial Corporation, a consumer goods corporation.

Rev. Humphrey is married to Jean Stowe Humphrey and they have three children, James Bradford, IV (Jenée), John Wesley (Tierra), Jessica Kathleen, and four grandsons, James Bradford Humphrey V, Joseph Nolan Grier Humphrey, Jason Emmanuel Humphrey, and William Axel Humphrey.
